Hands Off My Birth Control George!

The Roman Catholics have long been against abortion and birth control, but the last time I checked, Bush does not practice Catholicism at all. However, the President is looking to ban emergency contraceptives and birth controls.

First of all, Americans have always been involved in and fascinated with sex-in or out of marriage. Modern society is not, nor will it ever be, ancient times with no form of contraceptives and 12 + children to each woman. No, instead, women and men alike enjoy the pleasure of sexual experimentation and well sex itself without worrying about the possibility of a child. Abortions have been a popular way to ease this, but the most common way to prevent a pregnancy is by way of birth control and/or condom. And then for those that slip up (or better yet, slip off) theres the morning after pill to the rescue. I dont agree with it, but I dont think it’s a good idea to take away that right.

Many people would argue that this is a man, trying to decide for a woman, blah blah blah. But I wont make that argument. Instead I’m simply going to say that President Bush needs to step back and not try to control every move. What happened to freedom? I live and breath politics, but it’s time that we let people decide some things for themselves, and this is one of them. If a woman wants a baby, she can freely do so. If she does not, well, she has options.

I’m pretty much split down the middle on the topic of abortions anyways. I dont agree with having one, but I think it’s the womans right to choose. Maybe if we had a better child protection service I wouldnt be so split, but seeing as thats not happening anytime soon, I’ll keep playing money in the middle.
